Who we are

Days to Live is a global art project born from a deeply personal journey of resilience, renewal, and rediscovery. Founded by Rand Leeb-du Toit, a fine art photographer and heart transplant survivor, the project captures the transformative power of the human spirit through the universal language of art and storytelling. At its core, Days to Live is a celebration of life—a reminder that every moment is a gift, and that true living is found in purpose, connection, and courage.

Through striking black-and-white portraits featuring individuals holding a vibrant sunflower—the project’s symbol of resilience and hope—Days to Live invites participants and audiences to reflect on one profound question: “What does living life to the fullest mean to you?”This question, paired with each subject’s unique story, forms a tapestry of human experience that spans cultures, generations, and life circumstances.

But Days to Live is more than an art project—it is a call to action. With a vision to raise $100 million for charities focused on mental health and resilience, the project seeks to make a tangible difference in the lives of those facing adversity. By sharing stories of survival, strength, and renewal, we aim to inspire individuals worldwide to embrace their own journeys with gratitude and determination.

Our work is guided by a deep belief in the power of storytelling to connect, heal, and transform. Whether through the lens of a camera, the words of an interview, or the inspiration of a global movement, Days to Live is committed to amplifying voices, fostering empathy, and reminding us all to live fully—today and every day.
